Wychwood Barns is introducing the Community Activations Program that invites artists, community, charity and non-profit groups to host free community-based events in our large Covered Street Barn space and Christie Courtyard – in the historic building now revitalized as a cultural hub. 


Whether you are planning a creative workshop, film screening, spoken word performance, or a wellness program, our space welcomes you to bring the community together! Our intention is to bring lively energy into the space that fosters connection and community building. 

 

What We Offer 

  • A large open space in Toronto’s heritage building free of any venue rental cost 
  • Flexible hours between 9AM – 9PM 
  • Capacity to host up to 70 people 
  • Social media promotion and monthly calendar feature for your event 
  • Limited use of furniture; tables and chairs 
  • Support Staff and Audio/Visual Technician at discounted rates (Union-Compliant – please read “Things to Consider” for more details

 

Eligibility Requirements 

  • Must be a creative (artist or collective), non-profit organization or a charity group 
  • Must be free or pay-what-you-can donation type events only 
  • Event duration must fall within a 4 hour period on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday 
  • Event must be appropriate in a communal setting. Suitability for the space will be assessed by the Wychwood Barns team 


How to Apply 

Please fill out the application form and provide as many details about your event to help us support you best. Wychwood Barns team will review the application and get in touch within the timeframe of 2 weeks. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until we reach program capacity or until April 1, 2026. Kindly reach out to programs@arthubs.ca for any questions!
